I’m thrilled (and honestly, a little emotional) to share the title of my debut book: From the Loquat Tree.

This book has been a long time coming, years of memories, journal entries, quiet reflection, and the deep desire to tell my story in a way that feels both honest and healing. From the Loquat Tree is more than a title. It’s a symbol. A metaphor. A rooted place where the past and present meet, where memory bears fruit, and where identity and legacy intertwine.

Writing this book has been a labor of love. Some days the words flowed like honey; other days I stared at the page, heavy with the weight of what I wanted to say. But I kept going. I kept showing up. Because the stories needed to be told—not just for me, but for those who came before me and those still finding their voice.

I chose the loquat tree because it represents home, sweetness, and seasons—how life changes, and how we change with it. In many ways, this book is a collection of lived moments, threaded together by a deep belief in the power of storytelling to heal, to reclaim, and to connect.

I can’t wait to share more with you in the coming weeks, from excerpts and behind-the-scenes moments to what inspired some of the most personal chapters. Thank you for walking with me. Your encouragement, your curiosity, and your patience, it’s meant everything.

This is just the beginning.

Sincerely, Gail
